A day on the road in southern Sardinia. We’ll rent a small convertible and follow the SP71 coastal route from Porto Teulada to Chia, one of the island’s most beautiful drives. The road winds past quiet coves and white-sand beaches, with stops to swim at Tuerredda and Piscinnì and a pause at Capo Spartivento Lighthouse where the cliffs fall straight into the sea.

In the afternoon we’ll step briefly into Sardinia’s ancient past, wandering the Punic and Roman ruins at Nora or Tharros before heading inland to Cabras for lunch to taste bottarga, the region’s prized cured mullet roe.
