An afternoon at Mandranova Farm, a family-run olive estate in the countryside outside Agrigento. The day begins with a walk through the olive groves and mill, learning how the farm produces its extra-virgin olive oil and tasting the different varieties pressed from the estate’s trees.
From there we move into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, preparing traditional Sicilian dishes using ingredients grown on the farm and in the surrounding countryside.
When the cooking is finished, the lesson becomes lunch. The table fills with the dishes we’ve prepared, served with Mandranova olive oil and bread and regional wine.
